HOUSTON — Can’t Comment Colin and Kamala Harris have a lot in common, particularly their lack of support for law enforcement. While Allred attempts to play to the center and mask his progressive agenda, his recent endorsement of Kamala Harris shows Texans exactly who he is.
If elected, Kamala Harris and Can’t Comment Colin would be nothing short of a disaster for the law enforcement communities around Texas and our nation. While Senator Cruz recently received the endorsement of groups representing over 44,000 law enforcement officials across Texas, Harris has praised the Defund the Police Movement, supported policies that slash police budgets, and more.
It’s been 41 days since Can’t Comment Colin held a press conference. Will he ever comment on his anti-law enforcement record?
COLIN ALLRED’S ANTI-LAW ENFORCEMENT RECORD:
- In May 2023, Allred voted against H.R. 2494, the POLICE Act of 2023, which classified “assaulting a law enforcement officer, firefighter, or other first responder a deportable offense.”
- In March 2021, Allred was an original co-sponsor and voted for H.R. 1280, which was considered a de facto “Defund the Police” bill, which would “defund the police” via massive “unfunded mandates,” citing “hundreds of millions” in new costs imposed on police departments through regulations. Additional impacts on law enforcement included eliminating qualified immunity, blanket bans on “no-knock” warrants, banning departments from receiving military equipment, and creating a federal database of law enforcement officers who may be wrongfully accused.
- In 2021, Allred voted against condemning the “Defund the Police” movement.
- In 2020, Allred voted for H.R. 7120, the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, which was co-signed by Pelosi and could restrict federal funding for local police departments that do not comply, and would end qualified immunity.
- Allred has received around $60,000 from groups and individuals that have supported the radical “Defund the Police” movement.
“Birds of a feather flock together,” said a Cruz Campaign Spokesperson.
“Senator Cruz has received the endorsements of over 80 Democrat and Republican county sheriffs and organizations representing over 44,000 law enforcement officials. Colin Allred’s support from law enforcement is few and far between. The men and women who protect Texans every day know that Allred’s silence and support of Kamala show exactly who he is and where he stands on public safety.”
