HOUSTON — Colin Allred was asked, “Under what circumstances do you believe an illegal immigrant residing in the U.S. should be deported?”
To no one’s surprise, Allred’s response was no response. He walked away without so much as a single word addressing the simple question.
It has been 45 days since Can’t Comment Colin held a press conference.
A Cruz Campaign Spokesperson issued the following statement.
“It’s a shame there isn’t an Olympic sport for dodging questions because Can’t Comment Colin would take home a gold medal. If he can’t address questions from Texans about top issues, in this case about the crisis at our southern border, then how can voters have any confidence in his ability to stand up for them in the U.S. Senate?
“Senator Cruz has held six press conferences in the last month alone and has been one of the leading voices in the nation regarding border security. In contrast, Can’t Comment Colin has held zero press conferences in the last 45 days and has an extremely troubling voting record when it comes to border and immigration policies.”
COLIN ALRED’S ANTI-BORDER SECURITY RECORD:
- Allred voted against a bipartisan resolution denouncing the Biden Admin’s immigration policies just hours after joining the House Democrat’s newly created task force held their first press conference
- Allred voted against H.R.2, the Secure the Border Act, which was called the “strongest border security bill to come through Congress in more than 100 years”
- Allred voted against H.R. 3941, The Schools Not Shelter Act, which would prohibit schools that receive federal funding from being used to house illegals
- Allred voted against a Motion to Recommit (MTR) to H.R.51, which would bar Washington, D.C., from becoming a sanctuary city
- Allred voted against a MTR to H.R. 6 that would automatically refer illegal aliens who were denied green cards on the basis of criminal activity, national security risks, or violent gang membership to Homeland Security
- Allred voted against a MTR to H.R.8, which mandated notifying ICE when an illegal immigrant attempts to purchase a firearm
- Allred voted yes on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s amendment to HR 2500, the FY20 NDAA, prohibiting the Trump administration from deploying troops to the southern border for immigration enforcement purposes
