Colin Allred’s Dangerous Record on Immigration

HOUSTON — Colin Allred is trying to convince voters that he is all of a sudden some sort of border hawk who is dead set on curbing illegal immigration. This is coming from the same guy who attacked Alexis Nungaray for advocating for her daughter, Jocelyn, after she was murdered by two illegal aliens who were released from custody as a result of Colin Allred and Kamala Harris’ catch-and-release program.

COLIN ALLRED’S EXTREME VOTING RECORD ON IMMIGRATION:
  • SKIPPED a vote for H R 3602: End the Border Catastrophe Act.
  • Voted AGAINST the POLICE ACT, which would make assaulting a law enforcement official a deportable offense for any non-U.S. national present in the U.S.
  • Voted AGAINST H. R. 2: Secure the Border Act
  • Voted YES on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ amendment to HR 2500, prohibiting the Trump administration from deploying troops to the southern border for immigration enforcement purposes.
  • Voted YES on Joaquin Castro’s HJ Res. 46, a resolution to terminate President Trump’s national emergency declaration for the southern border.
  • Voted YES on the veto override for Joaquin Castro’s HJ Res. 46, a resolution to terminate President Trump’s national emergency declaration for the southern border.
  • Voted YES on Rep. James McGovern’s amendment to HR 268, which would ensure that no funds could be spent on a border wall.
  • Voted NO on H.R. 3941: Schools Not Shelters Act which prohibited using school facilities that receive federal funding from being used to house any non-U.S. national who unlawfully entered the country.
  • Voted YES on HR 1333 NO BAN Act which establishes limitations on the president’s authority to suspend or restrict undocumented individuals from entering the United States.
  • Voted NO on HR 5283 Protecting our Communities from Failure to Secure the Border Act which prohibits the federal government from using certain federally administered lands to provide housing to any non-U.S. nationals (aliens under federal law) who have not been admitted into the United States.
  • In June 2019, Allred voted AGAINST an MTR to H.R. 6 that would automatically refer illegal aliens who were denied green cards on the basis of criminal activity, national security risks, or were violent gang members to Homeland Security.
“Colin Allred can talk all he wants about securing the border, but his record tells you everything you need to know about where he truly stands. Securing our border, curbing illegal immigration, and stopping the influx of crime pouring into our cities is not a priority for Allred and never has been.” — Cruz Campaign spokesperson
