ICYMI: Colin Allred Deletes Endorsement from Radical Anti-Fracking Climate Group

HOUSTON — In a now-deleted post, Allred touted an endorsement from the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). The NRDC is a far-left climate activism organization that is fully behind Kamala Harris and supports killing the oil and gas industry.

Last night, an article was published in Center Square on the post’s deletion and Allred’s awful energy record, which states the following.

On Sunday, Allred’s campaign published an endorsement by the Natural Resources Defense Council, a group committed to banning fracking and ‘fighting to protect public lands from oil and gas development.’…

“When posting NRDC’s endorsement on Instagram, Allred said, ‘I’m proud of the work that I’ve done to ensure we take an all-of-the-above energy approach that addresses the climate crisis,’ according to a screenshot of the post, which has since been removed. When asked about the endorsement or removing it, his campaign didn’t respond.

NRDC EXTREME ANTI-ENERGY RECORD:

  • Called for a ban on fracking in Delaware and then touted it being banned in the Delaware River Basin
  • Celebrated fracking being banned in Vermont
  • Celebrated fracking being banned in New York
  • Called for a ban on the transportation of LNG and called LNG “dangerous”
  • Backed the White House’s pause on LNG exports
  • Celebrated the progress of multiple states getting rid of natural gas appliances and transitioning to all-electric

“Colin Allred touted his endorsement from NRDC via Instagram…until he didn’t. Assuming someone realized after the post was up that this group’s primary goal is to kill the oil and gas industry, they decided to take it down. After all, that wouldn’t track with the lies they’ve spewed about his awful stances on energy policy.

“This continues to prove not only how in sync Allred is with the radical wing of his party that wants to destroy the energy industry and countless jobs with it but also how incredibly hypocritical and disingenuous his campaign is.” —Cruz Campaign spokesperson
