EDINBURG — The National Border Patrol Council has officially endorsed Senator Ted Cruz for his re-election campaign for the U.S. Senate.
Sen. Cruz has long advocated for securing our southern border and supporting members of the Border Patrol. He has introduced and supported multiple pieces of legislation reflecting this, most recently the Justice for Jocelyn Act.
Paul Perez, President of the National Border Patrol Council, said the following on the organization’s endorsement.
“No one has fought harder to secure our border than Senator Ted Cruz. Senator Cruz has been a staunch supporter and fighter for all Border Patrol agents, especially at a time when we have faced unprecedented strain as a result of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ border crisis. We need leaders like Senator Cruz fighting for us in the U.S. Senate. Colin Allred voted for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ open border agenda time and time again. He would be catastrophic for Texas, which is why the National Border Patrol Council is proud to endorse Senator Ted Cruz in his bid for re-election.”
Senator Cruz issued the following statement.
“Receiving this endorsement is an incredible honor. I’ve seen firsthand what these brave men and women do to protect Texans every day while putting their own lives on the line.
“I will continue to work hand-in-hand with our Border Patrol agents and fight tooth and nail against the Democrat’s open border agenda. The Biden administration has been nothing short of a full-blown disaster for our southern border, and no one has suffered more than Texas. Colin Allred has been a rubber stamp for those same policies and would continue enabling the border crisis if elected, which is why Texans will send him packing on November 5.”
